1. Install FTP client like FileZilla
You can download from here: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/filezilla_portable (opens in a new window)
Save the FileZilla to your Desktop and open the file (doubleclick). Then continue and finish the installation.
2. Run The FileZilla & Connect your hosting account
If you have not changed installation folder during installation, you can find FileZilla on your computer Desktop/FileZillaPortable/FileZillaPortable.exe
Then enter Your hosting IP address, your hosting username and your hosting password. These details You can find in an Email which has been sent to you during hosting account setup. Username and Password is usually identic to one you use to login your Hostin control panel (cPanel for example) and an IP can be seen in your cPanel too. Instead of IP address you may try entering ftp.yourhostingdomain.com. If you cant connect by Quickconnect button, contact your hosting provider.
3. FileZilla interface
After login/connecting to hosting account, You can see on the right side your hosting account folders. Find public_html or www folder and double click it. Now you are in the folder where your index.html or index.php file should be.
On the left side of FileZilla window you can see your computer folders and files. You can easilly copy file from your computer to hosting or vice versa just by drag & drop mouse or by mouse right click and select Copy/Transfer.
Be carefull managing Your files using FTP. If you delete your file, it is permanent delete. Always keep backup of your files.
Thank You and good luck managing Your hosting account using FTP.
